Getting the best results from your appointment

Prior to booking your appointment you may be asked to fill in and return a questionnaire with some background information about the problem that you want us to help you with. Please fill the forms in the best you can, if there are any questions you can't answer it's ok to leave them blank. Please return the forms at least a couple of days before your appointment as it will save time at your appointment.

Please arrive on time for your appointment so that we can make the best use of the time you have booked.

We may or may not talk about previous treatments you have previously tried in the past, however the main focus of our work will be focused on the future and how you want to feel after you have overcome your problem.

If you have experienced counseling, psychotherapy or similar treatments you'll probably notice that the way that we work tends to be very different to some other forms of treatments and although at first glance it may appear strange however the structure and methods we use have proved to be highly effective and produces results quickly.

Rather than telling us what you think we want to hear please be honest in your replies as this will not only make it easier for us to help you to overcome your problem it will also enable us to work more effectively saving time and money.

If you have any questions we are happy to answer them however if we are in the middle of doing something with you we may ask you to remember the question and ask it at a point later in the appointment so that we can remain focused on what we are doing.

Remember that because the issues that we are working with are aspects of human behaviour and the fact that people can choose how to think about things means that you can change. And in fact the question is not whether people can change the only thing in question is how quickly you will change. Some people take 2 to 3 sessions, some more and some people change in just one session.

If we ask you to practice something between appointments please do it. The things that we ask you to practice are for your benefit and will make it easier for you to overcome the problem. Just like sports people and performers practice the aim is that by doing the practice ahead of time your brain learns what to do so that when you are actually in the situation your brain can run it automatically and unconsciously. The more you do it the more you brain learns what to do.
