Claustrophobia? Imagine what your life will be
like without it...
NLP and Hypnosis have been
proved to be an extremely effective method for treating
claustrophobia.
Claustrophobia
is an anxiety disorder that involves fear of enclosed
or confined spaces.
Many
people suffer from claustrophobia with the effects that it
has on their life ranging from mild discomfort to
distress all the way through to sheer panic.
Claustrophobia can develop from
a unpleasant childhood experience (such as being trapped
in a small space during a childhood game), or from an
experience later on in life involving confined spaces (such
as being stuck in an elevator).
When an individual experiences such an event, it can often
trigger a panic attack; this response then becomes programmed
in the brain, establishing an association between being in
a tight space and feeling anxious or out-of-control. As a
result, the person often develops claustrophobia.
Typical
things that can trigger an attack of claustrophobia.
• Being
in small or confined spaces i.e. lifts, tube trains, tunnels,
aircraft.
• Having
to go thru some types of medical scanners (MRI. PET or
CT scanners).
• Any situation where the person
can't see an easy escape route or exit.
Typical behaviour patterns of a person
with claustrophobia.
• When
entering a room, start checking for where the exits are.
Position himself/herself near the exits. Feel very uneasy
when all the doors are shut.
* Avoid driving or entering a car
during times of day when traffic is most likely to be congested.
• Opt for using the stairs rather
than the lift (elevator). The reason being fear, rather than
the extra exercise
• Often
people will say that they feel scared if they can't see an
easy escape route to exit the situation.
Consider the true cost of living with Claustrophobia.
If you are living with claustrophobia, what is the real cost
to your health, your career or education and to your family
life? Avoiding the issue indefinitely would mean resigning
yourself to living in fear, missing out on priceless life
experiences big and small, living a life that is just a
shadow of what it will be when the problem is gone.
For anyone earning a living, the financial toll of this phobia
is incalculable. Living with fear means you can never concentrate
fully and give your best. Lost opportunities. Poor performance
or grades. Promotions that pass you by claustrophobia will
likely cost you tens, even hundreds of thousands of pounds
over the course of your lifetime, let alone the cost to your
health and quality of life.
It is
true that people are born with
only 2 fears - falling and loud noises -and all the others
are learnt. The good news is that because your phobia is
a learnt response a new response can be learnt to stop your
phobia. Now Claustrophobia can be gone
for less than the price of a weekend away.
From experience we typically find
that in the majority of cases of claustrophobia are
treatable in 1 or 2 sessions.
