Fear of crowds? Imagine what your life will be
like without it...
NLP and Hypnosis have been
proved to be an extremely effective method for treating
fear of crowds.
Fear of crowds
is an anxiety disorder that involves fear of enclosed
or confined spaces.
Many
people suffer from fear of crowds with the effects that it
has on their life ranging from mild discomfort to
distress all the way through to sheer panic.
Fear of crowds can develop from
a unpleasant childhood experience (such as being trapped
in a small space during a childhood game or lost in a crowd),
or from an experience later on in life involving confined
spaces (such as being stuck in an elevator) or feeling bad
while in a crowd.
When an individual experiences such
an event, it can often trigger a panic attack; this response
then becomes programmed in the brain, establishing an association
between being in a tight space or crowd and feeling anxious
or out-of-control. As a result, the person often develops
fear of crowds.
Typical
things that can trigger an attack of fear of crowds.
• Being
in small or confined spaces i.e. lifts, tube trains, tunnels,
aircraft.
• Being surrounded by a large
number of people.
• Any situation where the person
can't see an easy escape route or exit.
Typical behaviour patterns of a person
with fear of crowds.
• When
entering a room, start checking for where the exits are.
Position himself/herself near the exits. Feel very uneasy
when all the doors are shut.
* Avoid large numbers of people or
traveling during times of day when there could be large
numbers of people.
• Avoids going to parties, concerts,
large sporting events etc.
• Often
people will say that they feel scared if they can't see an
easy escape route to exit the situation.
Consider the true cost of living with fear of crowds.
If you are living with fear of crowds, what is the real cost
to your health, your career or education and to your family
life? Avoiding the issue indefinitely would mean resigning
yourself to living in fear, missing out on priceless life
experiences big and small, living a life that is just a
shadow of what it will be when the problem is gone.
For anyone earning a living, the financial toll of this phobia
is incalculable. Living with fear means you can never concentrate
fully and give your best. Lost opportunities. Poor performance
or grades. Promotions that pass you by fear of crowds will
likely cost you tens, even hundreds of thousands of pounds
over the course of your lifetime, let alone the cost to your
health and quality of life.
It is
true that people are born with
only 2 fears - falling and loud noises -and all the others
are learnt. The good news is that because your phobia is
a learnt response a new response can be learnt to stop your
phobia. Now fear of crowds can be gone
for less than the price of a weekend away.
From experience we typically find
that in the majority of cases of fear of crowds are
